Easter Sunday

I am a little late in getting this post out, but work has been pretty busy and by the time I get home looking at computer is not something I have been wanting to do.

On Easter morning, the three of us went to a church near our apartment. It was a nice service. Some of the members performed a little skit. The church has a pretty nice sound and lighting system, so the effects were pretty good. We also got to listen to a 15 year old boy play the piano. He has already been accepted to Juilliard. Pretty impressive! You could tell he was very good, but the music he selected was very dark sounding. It did not really lift my spirits, but maybe that was the point...not sure.

We were told that Colin had a great time in the nursery. We were relieved that his number never flashed on the monitor for us to pick him up during the service!

After the service there was an Easter Egg Hunt. Colin was in the under 3 group. Colin did not fully grasp the concept of the hunt, but he did find two plastic eggs (that Will grabbed and put in front of him). At first Colin was more interested in watching all of the older children run around, but then he did notice the two eggs and became very excited! The rest of the hunt consisted of Colin repeatedly putting his two eggs in his basket and then pulling them back out. Overall, a great first Easter Egg Hunt.

When we got home we realized that the Easter Bunny had made a visit to our apartment! He left Colin a basket with hot wheels, a coloring book and a little Elmo stuffed animal!! He also got a big blue ball that is taller than him!

We had Liz and Michael over for dinner. The Easter Bunny had also left an Easter basket for Colin at Grandma's house as well! What a wonderful holiday!!

Outside Fun

A few weekends ago, in an attempt to burn some of Colin's abundance of energy, we took him to a local high school to let him play outside. The whole time we were running after him trying to keep him from reaching the sidewalk. For some reason that was more appealing than our big section of grass, maybe because he has not yet mastered walking on grass. He did have fun playing with daddy's football and a rubber ball, during his breaks from trying to out maneuver us and escape the grass.

Our plan worked though, Colin was wore out by the time we left for the day, but so were we!

They're Ready When They Float

On Saturday night, William and I decorated eggs after Colin went to bed. My adorable sweetie advised me "when boiling the eggs they are ready when they float". I was pretty sure the eggs would not float and attempted to call my mom to see, but I got her voicemail. After 10 minutes we checked on them and there were no floating eggs! At that point William remembered that that rule was probably for hot dogs!

We had a great time decorating eggs and cannot wait for Colin to try it...maybe next year. We almost did it this year but it would have been disastrous! We did have him try a bite of one of the eggs on Sunday, but he did not seem to interested in eating it. He did have fun playing with it though! I think he liked the squishy aspect of it.

So, we had a great evening of being childish while decorating eggs and watching an episode of Gilmore Girls! William bought me the last season for Christmas and we just started watching it. He is sweet and watches it with me, since it is my only TV show that I am really loyal to. Even though I have never really watched an episode on TV, only DVDs.

William, Colin and I all hope that everyone had a wonderful Easter! We love you all and miss you!

Playing at the Playground

Colin and I had a day off together a few weeks ago. We had a lot of fun, even though we were both recovering from being sickies. We ventured out to a little playground near our place. There was not a swingset so there was not a lot that Colin could do without causing injury to himself, so he focused on walking the dirt path around the playground. He has not quite conquered walking on uneven ground. We decided to head in once he decided he wanted to eat the dirt!
