Our Halloween

We had a FANTASTIC Halloween this year!  Meli did so much better than last year. You may remember our little grumpy witch (see picture to the side). She did not really go trick-or-treating.  It is hard for younger kids to grasp what the hell is going on. This year she started off a little timid but once she figured it out she loved it. Her "trick-or-treat' was a little hard to understand...well not the "treat" part but she was very good at "thank you". She was an OSU cheerleader. She does not really like things on her head so we thought it was an easy costume, plus we already had the outfit from P-Pa. Who is a huge OSU fan. I do not have a preference between the Ducks or Beavers...I just support both teams. She did make a super cute cheerleader. Oh boy.

We had such a busy day. We made Halloween cookies in the morning before Colin had to go to school. They were having a Halloween parade. I am glad they still do that. I remember having the parade from classroom to classroom when I went. I always thought it was neat to see all the kids' costumes. My family did not really celebrate the holiday but we would dress up for school. He was Batman this year. Colin had so much fun at school! He was smiling from ear to ear when I picked him up.

After the rest of us got dressed up we headed to old downtown to go trick-or-treating at the stores. They had it all decked out and everyone was in costume. It was really cute. This town really gets into the holidays. It is a very sweet town.  Below is a picture of Meli giving Sparky the Fire dog a high five. She thought he was so cool. I need to show them pictures of their daddy as Sparky back in Germany!

Later we went to a few houses with Meli and Colin. Then Meli went home with me to pass out candy while Colin and Will finished the neighborhood. Colin got back in time to help me pass out candy. He loved giving to the kids. Our kids are so social. I guess we are very lucky for that. Even though we have to remind Colin that not everyone is a nice person and he needs to be aware of who is a stranger to him. Will and I even dressed up this year. We have not done that in the past. I thought I got a picture but I think someone may have deleted it...
