Yesterday, we decided to take the kids on a day trip to the coast. I love being so close to the ocean. The East Coast may have warmer water but it just takes so long to drive there. It was low tide, so a spot that is usually all water was just wet sand. Very muddy, which the kids LOVED! Meli was covered in mud from head to toe and was in heaven.
The plan was to go to a lighthouse, but Meli was getting very antsy and extremely annoyed with her carseat. We thought it would be more enjoyable for everyone to just find an area for the kids to run around as soon as possible. I have been really wanting to see the lighthouse, so hopefully next time.
The drive home was so much better. Meli and Colin were playing so well together. Even though Colin was getting irritated that Meli kept calling his Batman "bad guy". She would say, "what you doing bad guy?" or "You OK bad guy?" He would keep saying "Batman!" Another word she picked up was "awesome". Everything was "awesome"! She was also having fun dancing to old Madonna songs and the group Fun. Her hair had a little more volume today and looked a bit choppy for some reason. She kind of looked like Rod Stewart (her hair at least).
Here are few pictures from our day.
