Grandma Liz came over today to babysit for us again. We can definitely get used to this! She and Uncle Michael came over around 3:00 and Will and I went with our friends, John and Susannah, to go see the Watchmen movie. I was pretty excited because I have been reading the comic book this last week at Will's urging. **Side note from Will, the comic book is on a list of the top 100 books of all-time and it won the Hugo award. The fact being that for a comic book to get that type of recognition is a big deal.
So, the movie was really good. However, I am not sure how I would have felt about it if I had not read most of the book. I think it would have been a little hard to follow without a background. I think that the people who really like it will be fans of the book. The heros are definitely not like the X-Men or Spiderman. The movie is pretty dark and not as action packed, but is very graphic. Just a warning: there is quite a bit of nudity, both male and female. So, if you are not prepared to see some man parts...
We also got to go for a drink and appetizers afterwards. We went to Ruby Tuesdays, which was pretty good. When we got home Colin was in his crib, but not sleeping! I think the novelty of having people over gave him some extra energy. He kept Michael and Liz on the move with his constant curiosity. After they left, I went into check on Colin and he was standing up talking to his stuffed animal. So, he got to stay up even later with Mom and Dad. Spoiled!
