Anyway, back to the point of this post...St. Patrick's Day. We crammed a lot into one day. The three boys took over the lower level and managed to pull out practically every toy Colin owns and watched Tin Tin. We had a big breakfast of french toast and turkey bacon. Colin and I did a St. Patty day art project. Meli did one too (at daycare last week) Are they not the cutest?!?!
Colin and I went to the library. We try to go every other weekend. He cracks me up by the books he picks. Colin will start in the non-fiction section and just start grabbing books he thinks look cool. This week we got Weird Pets, a book on Smelling, and one called Respect (it has a picture of Tae Kwon Do on the front), then we move on to the fiction sections. Usually there has to be at least one book about robots, one about dinosaurs and then he picks one for Meli.
On St. Patrick's Day we usually have mashed potatoes with green food coloring. This weirded Colin out a bit, but he was a sport and tried it. With dinner Will and I enjoyed Guinness...of course! Then for dessert we had....
Colin had a piece of the giant cookie and then I made for Will and I Chocolate Guinness Goodness.A recipe that I got from pinterest. It actually was pretty good. Here is a close up. It is pudding (made with Guinness) and then you make a creamy mixture for the topping to make it look like a glass of Guinness.
It was such a beautiful day...one that we were able to end with a nice family walk. I just love days like this. Relaxing.
Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!!
