Coley & Mimi

I keep funny kid moments in my Notes on my phone to use for this blog...My list has become rather long, so here we go.

  • Meli - "Mimi car. Take keys and go. Get cake"
  • Meli has discovered that she can take the keys and unlock the bathroom doors from the outside. Now anytime I need privacy, I can here her try the door, then say "I get keys". Great. I have started locking my bedroom door than the bathroom door to give myself more time alone.  I was taking a shower the other day and I hear her running in. She takes off all of her clothes and joins me. No time alone for mama!
  • Colin wants a big brother to come out of my belly. I explained how that was not possible since he was already born. He said I needed to "figure it out, please". I told him that I could not make an older brother happen. So he says, "I guess it would be OK if he were a robot"
  • Meli and Colin playing in the car. Meli used to call Batman "bad guy", now she says it correctly.
Meli "hey bad guy"
Colin - "I am Batman, not bad guy"
Meli - "You OK bad guy"
    Colin - "I am Batman"
Meli - "Are you scared, bad guy?
         Colin - "I am BATMAN!"

  • Meli's new words:  Awesome, bad guy, Batman, Spiderman, shower, "Mimi take", "give it back", "we go in blue car", store (she loves the store), "I am not rude" - I wrote these a few months ago. I have will have to think of more recent ones.
  • She says "whadda" all of the time - she is referring to a person, no idea what it means. Kind of like "sweetie". We think. She will say, "you OK, whadda?" "It's OK, whadda?"
  • Colin's 10 commandments (a partial list):
              Do not break someone's glass
              Do not roll your eyes
Do not mess with someone's stuff if you didn't say anything first

  • Colin hates peanut butter with a passion. As a kid, I did not like it at all, but not as much as Colin. He cannot stand the smell either. He gets so frustrated when Meli is having a PB&J sandwich while sitting next to him. He can smell it as soon as he starts coming down the last set of stairs. The other day he said, "I just want a family that hates peanut butter"
Happy 4th of July everyone! Stay safe. We are excited for a parade, hiking, a BBQ, and of course fireworks! I am on a roll with blog entries. It has become part of my morning routine. Wake up, drink a hot cup of tea and enjoy a little computer time.
