"A daughter is a day brightener and a heart warmer." Author Unknown
On Mother's Day this year, we also celebrated a special little girl's 4th birthday. I cannot believe that my sweet little Meli is already 4. Seriously, where has the time gone?!? Her personality is really coming through to show a distant style and drive.
She is sweet but stern. Affectionate but cool. Whimsical but focused. Girlie but tough. My little girl of contradictions! Well, probably just a rounded character.
Meli's Favorite Things at 4:
Character- Rapunzel & Elsa (but she loves them all)
Color - pink & purpleClothing - Dresses & skirts
Food - chocolate (like her daddy)
Show - My Little Ponies & PowerPuff Girls & TMNT
Sport - Soccer
Drink - apple juice
Place - playground
Video Game - Disney Infinity (Elsa & Rapunzel)
Movie - Tangled
Book - Ladybug Girl
Activity - Being chased by daddy
Ice cream - strawberry or vanilla
We have spread out the birthday celebrations. Last week, my mom came up to celebrate her birthday. We went to a pottery place so the kids could paint. Meli painted a unicorn and Colin a dinosaur. They turned out very cute. Then we headed out for ice cream.
On Friday, Meli and I had a day together. It was gorgeous! We hung out at this big, open park. Meli started jumping off this large step. She looked so happy, so I snapped a picture. Meli loved it, so she kept asking for me to take another. These two were the best. I love how she looks full of life.
On her actual birthday, we did our hike, planted flowers and went to the playground. Then we had dinner and dessert. She tends to only eat the frosting off cake (like her mama), so I got a big cookie instead. It was (sadly) shaped like a heart (Mother's Day), but it worked perfectly. Plus, she loves hearts.
This weekend, we are having her kid party. It will be a Princesses, Pirates and Fairies costume (dress-up) party. I think she will have so much fun!
My little girl is growing up way too fast! Slow it down timekeeper! Slow. It. Down.
