Easter Celebration

As mentioned in my previous post, we had a wonderful Easter. We tried out a new church which I really liked.  They put a lot of emphasis on community service and supporting the troops; two things I find very important.  I think we will be going back!  Colin had a great time in the Sunday School class.  He learned a lot about angels and Easter.  He is a very inquisitive boy...so of course the topic of Jesus provides a lot of room for boys and their questions.  Like "why is Jesus not a baby anymore?  And why is he wearing a diaper?"

On Saturday, we did some Easter cards for the grandparents, made Easter cupcakes and decorated eggs.  Colin thought dying the eggs was the "coolest thing ever".  His words.  We set our baskets out just in case the Easter Bunny wanted to leave a few treats.  Colin also wanted to leave out a new superhero sticker book he had so the Easter Bunny could look through it if he wanted to, which he did!

The next morning...of course I am up at 5:45 and no one else is.  The three little bothers did not wake up until close to 7!  I am such a little kid when it comes to holidays. Finally everyone woke up and Colin was running all over the place trying to find the eggs and treats.  The Easter Bunny left Colin some yummy treats, books and Happy Feet.  While Meli got some books and clothes, plus some empty eggs to play with since she will not be enjoying the treats! The plastic eggs provide endless entertainment, even for Colin.

Yes?
After church, we headed down to visit Grandpa and Grandma Patty.  Their house is always a blast.  Lots of non-kid friendly things for Colin to meddle with. That sweet Easter Bunny left two baskets for the kids there as well.  What a nice guy.

Then we headed over to Grandma Liz for a delicious dinner (thank you, Liz!!!).  Colin chased poor Rusty around pretty much the whole time. He probably sleeps so well when we come for a visit.  Would you know that the Easter Bunny left another two baskets!?!  Colin thinks he must have been such a "super good boy" for the bunny to do that!
Meli did try a bite of our Easter cupcakes
